Spring Term 2019

New Term!

Welcome back to nursery! Also a huge welcome to the two new children Isabelle and Natasha, they are settled and enjoying nursery.

This week we have been so pleased to see the snow on the ground, even if it was just a tiny bit, we still made snow angels, tried to make a snowman and threw snowballs at each other!

Vegetable Soup

In nursery we have been reading different stories and having activities around the topic of Winter, soup was mentioned in a story so we had a discussion about soup, what it was and why people eat it, we said 'to keep us warm.'

We decided to make some soup ourselves, we made vegetable soup. First we needed to peel the carrots, potatoes and onion, then chop it up and put it all in the pan with some water and vegetable stock. It took some time to cook but it was delicious when it was finished. It also warmed our tummys up we noticed!

World Book Day

Big School Bird Watch

We took part in the Big School Bird Watch again this year, where every class spent some time outside looking and counting the birds that they saw and recording the number. Nursery went outside prepared with Binoculars, magnifying glasses and clipboards to record the information collected. The children had a great time checking in tyres and up trees and in the sky.

Pancake Day

It's Pancake Day! We made the mixture together, flour, milk and eggs (we enjoyed cracking the eggs!) then Mrs Wilson cooked them and flipped them then we ate them. They were yummy!
