Welcome to Foundation Two

This term we will be learning lots of new things. We continue to introduce  new sounds in phonics and learn sounds whre two letters join together to make one sound. We will continue to practise our letter formation  and writing. We will enjoy small group and full class reading and will be able to put our phonic knowledge to good use. We will continue to use numbers in everyday, real life contexts and will add and subtract numbers to solve our own problems.

We will use Bramblebank Woods at least once a week to embrace our love of the outdoors and continue to develop our forest skills with the trained support of Mrs Wilson. We will be den making, fire buiding, risk assessing, whittling and hurdling.

We will use Floorbooks to develop a collaborative approach to our learning. Children will be encouraged to develop sustained shared thinking and will be encouraged to use wonder questions as an approach to learning.

All of the activities are fun, child centred and embrace both the indoor and outdoor environment. Independent challenges and controlled risk taking are encouraged to develop resilience and perservance skills.
