Toy Museum Workshop

To start our topic we had a visit from the museum.  We had the opportunity to explore and play with toys from the Tudor and Victorian times as well as toys from within living memory.  We compared the materials used to make the toys and the different ways in which they worked.

Chicks

We've been looking after some chicks! We watched them peck out of their shells, moved them to their Brooder box and have been learning to take care of them carefully.

Mrs White even got to take them home over the weekend!

We had an amazing visitor in school teaching us all about illustrations. We learned how to draw some of Nick Sharratt's characters. We loved drawing the Vikings.

Treasure Island

Our school focus for World Book Day this year has been Treasure Island.

We have found pirate treasure, made rafts to get off a desert island and done some amazing Maths and English.

Money Week

Throughout this week we have been thinking about why people have jobs and the different things we might spend money on.  We also thought about what job we would like to do when we are older.

We used coins to find different ways of making amounts and enjoyed sharing the work we had done with year 6 at the end of the week.
