The Suffragettes

Votes for Women

This week we have been learning about the suffragettes and their campaign for female suffrage. We looked at newspaper articles, photographs and news reel from 1906 - 1913 to find out about how women went about getting the vote.

In English, we imagined it was 1913 and wrote a diery entry about a rally that we took part in to defend our cause.

On Thursday afternoon, after making banners, badges and sashes, the whole school attended a rally in the hall with Emmeline Pankhurst (Miss Tyson) before going on a procession through the village.

Roald Dahl Day 2018
