Summer Term 2018

Welcome back! We have lots of exciting things planned for our last term as Year 3!

Keep checking back for more.

On Wednesday 18th April, we were lucky enough to have a workshop from North Lincolnshire Council as our entry point for Scavengers and Settlers.

We had 3 different activities including:

Dressing up as Stone, Bronze and Iron Age

Investigating remains to find out what they ate!!!

Looking at and discussing artefacts

Recently, we have been introducing bar modelling within our maths lesson as a tool to help us to structure our working out. Here we are having answered some questions and created our own too. We are now starting to use it for fractions of amounts.

Otzi the Iceman

We acted as detectives as we had to piece together some evidence about a Stone Age man nicknamed 'Otzi' whose body was preserved in ice for over 5000 years. We learnt he died from an arrow wound and was possibly shot in the back. He was carrying his tools when he died.

Royal Wedding Fun!

We celebrated in style at school! All morning Year 3/4 prepared a range of Royal Wedding themed stalls to raise money for our trip.

We looked after these at lunchtime and raised lots of money.

After lunch, we even had a wedding and a wedding breakfast meal!

Cave Art

We are working with Mrs Busby for 2 weeks on 'cave art' linking to our IPC topic 'Scavengers and Settlers'. We had great fun making our own handprint cave art this week!

We have created our very own sunflower art work to enter a competition for Lindsey Lodge's 2020 calendar. We are SO proud of our work!
