Rainforest Homework Project - 4.11.2015

Each class was set a food challenge to make something using seasonal foods. We decided upon Toffee Apple Cake using apples picked by Mrs Whitehouse. Here are some pictures of us making the delicious cakes!

It seemed like a normal Thursday morning. Year 4 came into class ready to find out what their morning activity was. Over night however,  Year 4 had been transformed into a rainforest, packed full of animals, vines, rainforest smells, sounds and craft/collage material. Excitement and shock consumed the class and our Entry Point had begun. We spent the day making animals/trees/objects of our choice to live in our rainforest and some children wanted to recreate a rainforest scene using large pieces of paper. With the smells and sounds, we felt like we was actually in the Amazon rainforest!

After lunch we had an unexpected visitor. A man known as 'Mr Chop'. He barged unnannounced into our classroom and started damaging our rainforest and ripping down our vines. This got us thinking about what is happening out there in the rainforest and how the people who live there may be feeling.

Take a look at some of the photos from our day!
