Autumn Term 2018

Keep checking back regularly for updates as we have an extremely busy term ahead for us in Year 4!

We have been finding out lots this week about the Suffragettes who campaigned 100 years ago for the right for women to vote. We have loved learning about this important historical event and have found out so many fascinating facts! Here we are on our protest around Keadby!

On Monday after lunch, Year 3 and 4 walked into their classrooms to a transformation! We had our entry point for Temples, Tombs and Treasures and had lots of activities in each classroom. We were archaeologists searching for artefacts, mummifying our friends, sketching Heiroglyphs and much more. We had so much fun as you can see below!

In BBW we have been makkling paintbrushes and our very own mud paint!

We have also made our own Ancient Egyptian pyramids. They were fantastic!

As part of World Food Day and looking at Spain, we created self-portraits in the style of Pablo Picasso.

Our outstanding homework for Ancient Egypt:

We have worked hard this week reading the story George's Marvellous medcine. We have done some artwork in the style of Quentin Blake, a list poem and a set of instructions for our very own marvellous medicine! We enjoyed our dress up day too.

We have been working on place value in maths and today we looked at representing 4 digit numbers in a variety of ways (string number lines, place value counters, dienes, abacus)

We had a lot of fun!

As part of World Food Day on Tuesday 16th October, Year 4 have been learning about Spain. We learnt that it is bordered by Portugal and France and is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.

We created a poster to show off our facts.

We also cooked chicken and chorizo paella. It was DELICIOUS!

In maths we have been looking at weight and reading scales. We measured out children's weekly rations (WW2) and we were shocked by the amount. Here we are below:
