Spring Term 2016

Happy New Year!

For the first half of the Spring Term we will be continuing with our Rainforest topic.

We have got a VERY busy term as we will be putting on a show with Year 3 during Easter week. Auditions for parts will be starting very soon!

Maths Day - 6th January 2016

We came back after the holidays to MATHS DAY! We worked in groups and had to plan a camping holiday for 4 for under £800. We had a fantastic day creating these holidays - take a look at some of our photos below.

Saving the World EXIT POINT - THURSDAY 4th FEBRUARY 2016

After learning about the rainforest and the threat that it is currently under, Year 3&4 have decided that they would like to try and make a difference. On Thursday 4th February we will be running a lunchtime fundraiser to raise money to sponsor a Jaguar. We are going to be planning and manning the stalls ourselves. We've got lots to do but we are very excited about it.

Here is a picture of an advertisement that Kai made for his homework!

Class Book

We are trying to read a diverse range of books in order to develop and enrich our vocabulary for our own story writing. We are reading a classic book 'Five Children and it!' by Edith Nesbit. We have only just started this but we will update you on this book very soon.

Saving The World Exit Point

Today we ran our very own fundraiser to sponsor a Jaguar in th Amazon Rainforest. We planned and ran stalls over dinnertime. Some of our stalls included; Name the monkey, Pin the tail on the jaguar, Making animal mask and a penalty shoot out with our very own Mr Chop! Take a look at some of our photos below. The total is being announced in assembly tomorrow-watch this space!

UPDATE - We raised a whopping £126 which means that each class can sponsor their own jaguar. Well done Year 3 &4!

• All about skeletons and muscles

• About the human life cycle

• Why exercise is good for us

• How tobacco and alcohol harm the body

• Which foods keep us healthy and why

In Technology, we’ll be finding out:

23.2.16 ENTRY POINT

We took part in our very own body M.O.T which involved visiting different stations within the classroom (senses station, sorting healthy foods and many more!) We even got to meet Dr Coughalot. Here are some pictures from our morning.

Alice in Wonderland Week - 29.2.16

Linking in with World Book Day, we took part in a whole school Alice in Wonderland week. We read and acted out scenes from the playscipt, wrote our own stage directions, solved Alice themed time problems and developed our observational drawing skills when we sketched stacked tea cups and teapots. We even made scones for our very own tea party. Here is a picture of us all dressed up as characters from the story!
