Spring Term 2020

Welcome back!
We have a busy term ahead of us: World Book Day, Maths Week a trip to the National Space Centre in Leicester as part of our space topic,  Chinese New Year, Sports Relief and the Speech and Drama Festival.

This term we will be covering a lot of Science! We will be learning about:
* how we see
* how light travels

* reflecting light
* refraction
* the colour spectrum
* shadows

* the movement of Earth and other planets, relative to the sun in the solar system
* the movement of the moon relative to the Earth
* the Earth's rotation

Op Art Linked to Alice in Wonderland for World Book Day

This term, we have used Alice in Wonderland as our chosen story focus for World Book Day. We have written portal stories in Literacy and create Optical Illusions around the theme of portals and Surrealism. 

Coming Up ...

We are going to be doing some writing around the graphic novel The Arrival by Shaun Tan.

Maths Week 2020

We have been getting stuck in to some hands on maths involving reasoning and problem solving. This has given the children the chance to work collaborativelty on open ended tasks using a variety of mathematical equipment.
